What to Expect

  • 14 miles of horse friendly trails here..
  • The equestrian campground has 12 sites nestled on the southwestern end of the 9,940 acres of Oak Mountain State park. Each site has 50 amp service, water and sewer hook ups, dump station for horse waste, fire rings, and picnic tables.

Coming from the North: On I-65, take Cahaba Valley Road (AL-119) exit (246). Turn right to go South on AL-119 and immediately turn left on to State Park Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Turn left at the 4 way into the park.

 

Coming from the South: On I-65, take Cahaba Valley Road (AL-119) exit (246). Turn left to go South on AL-119 and immediately turn left on to State Park Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Turn left at the 4 way into the park.

 

When coming to Oak Mountain Park from Highway 1 (the coast side) or Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard), turn onto Highway 84 eastbound. Proceed towards the Town of Woodside. Proceed approximately 1/2 mile past the intersection of Portola Road. The entrance to the park will be on the west (left) side.
