Little Elden Springs Horse Camp is a place for people who love horses and open spaces. It is a special place created exclusively for those individuals who enjoy riding their horse through beautiful country. Designed with the needs of the horse-camper in mind, each of the fifteen sites allows easy access for trucks pulling horse trailers. The campground sits near the base of Mount Elden in a beautiful grove of Ponderosa Pine and Gamble Oak. A trail connects the camp to a system of riding trails on the mountain, but also is within easy access of many areas in the Forest that can be enjoyed by horse riders.
Location: 5 miles northeast of Flagstaff on the edge of Elden Mountain. Elevation is 7200 feet.
Season: May 7 through October 11, 2010
Facilities: 15 Pull-through campsites, Picnic tables, Restrooms, Water, Hitching rails, Trash dumpsters
Fees: Single Family Site: $20.00 per night; extra vehicle: $9.00 per night. Day use $9.00 up to 5 people, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations accepted online by Recreation.Gov or by calling 877-444-6777 (toll free number), If you choose to make reservations, there will be an additional fee.
Notes:
Larger sites can accommodate a combined truck
and trailer length up to 35 feet.
14 day stay limit.
All vehicles must be kept on constructed
roads or spurs.
