Annadel State Park

Santa Rosa, California

Trailhead Coordinates:  38.44699, -122.64934

DAY USE ONLY

Located adjacent to Spring Lake Regional Park and the City of Santa Rosa, Annadel State Park offers nearly 45 miles of trails for year-round horseback riding. Annadel is a sprawling haven for outdoor enthusiasts that enters into the Santa Rosa city limits.

Annadel is also one of the few California parks where all trails except for a one-mile stretch, are multi-use trails, meaning people on horse, bike or foot can use them. Be alert for bicycles at all times as the park is also very popular with that user group.

Covering about 5,000 acres the park includes open meadows, mixed woodlands and Redwood forest.

Annadel State Park is often referred to as an urban wilderness. Indeed, the city of Santa Rosa shares 2-1/2 miles of the park's western boundary; city residents have a wilderness at their doorstep. The feature that stands out most is the park's variety. One can ride in cool shaded forests, then into mixed oaks, onto expansive meadows, around a lake's shore, through tangled chaparral, and return to forest coolness in the space of only a few miles.
