Alabama Hills Recreation Area
Alabama Hills is famous for several things, the most notable as being the location of a multitude of films. The rock formations here, and of course Mount Whitney towering in the distance, look incredibly like, well any typical desert/ western scene. While there are a multitude of trails this is open country riding. Ride on Cowboy!

What to Expect
- Scenic Vistas
- Primitive camping which means you'll be making your own camp area.
Rules and Regulations
- Land Manager = BLM
- You can camp on BLM land for free up to 14 days per calendar year.
- BLM management requests that equestrian campers disperse camp in the flat-ish areas beyond movie flats
- A California camp fire permit is required
