Horses are allowed on the South Shore area of Trinidad Lake. The South Shore Trail is about 4 miles long and cross country riding is permitted.

10 primitive horse camping spots are available in the South Shore Campground and potable water is being installed in the horse camping area. All of these horse friendly sites have panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
