Brown County State Park - Nashville, Indiana
Trailhead Coordinates: 39.13160, -86.19942
Brown County State Park is a Midwestern Equestrian destination point for thousands of horsemen each year.
Nicknamed the “Little Smokies” because of the area’s resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines.
Indiana’s largest park is a traditional fall color hot spot, with nearly 20 miles of tree-lined roads and many scenic vistas overlooking miles of uninterrupted forestland.
A separate horsemen’s campground with 204 camp sites allows easy access to 70 miles of horse trails that meander throughout the park are just some of reasons for Brown counties popularity.
Reservations are highly recommended; don’t risk chancing it on a first come, first serve basis especially in September or October because the campground is often filled to capacity. Contact the park office at 812-988-6406
