INSTRUCTIONS
to tie a
SHEET BEND KNOT
WITH A QUICK
RELEASE
A Sheet
Bend is the preferred knot for joining two ropes
together because the Sheet Bend doesn’t slip
under load yet comes apart easily even when wet.
The slippery hitch variation of the Sheet Bend
allows you to take the knot apart with a single
pull which make it very handy for pulling camp
early in the morning.
Safety:
Ropes and the
knots associated with rope, can be dangerous. If
improperly handled, or tied, ropes can kill and
you could be the victim! Always use rope with
care and inspect and test any knots you
tie. Respect ropes subject to a heavy load,
especially your own climbing rope. The danger
associated with ropes under load is often
learned by painful experience.
