Ohio Trails Main

Alum Creek's 3,387-acre reservoir and 4,630-acres of gently rolling span of fields and woodlands create a focus of recreational activity just minutes from Ohio's capital city of Columbus. You’ll find shale cliffs overlooking Alum Creek Lake and healthy second growth beech-maple forests to wander.

For the equestrian set Alum Creek offers 3 main trails.

Winterhawk  - Departs from the north side of the Horse Camp and loops around the north end of Alum Creek lake before heading south to Howard Road.

Maple Glen – Departs from the south side of the Horse Camp and follows the west side of Alum Creek Lake in a myriad of loops and turns.

Hunters’ Hollow – Starts and ends at Howard road, across the bridge from the Horse Camp. The trail runs south from Howard Road and forms several loops. There are good views of the Lake along this route.

The Horse Camp has 30 sites for truck and trailer rigs.

The many ravine crossings will challenge you and your horse with strenuous short and steep climbs. Trails here have a tendency to be muddy through spring and into summer.
