Located in the eastern foothills of the Blue Ride Mountains Kings Mountain State Park offers horse riders gorgeous riding through rolling hills and granite outcroppings on a 20 mile trail that loops through the Kings Mountain State Park and a large portion of the Kings Mountain National Military Park not far from Charlotte, NC.

Trail footing is mostly flat with a few rocky areas and clay spots. Hoof protection is recommended.

EQUESTRIAN FACILITIES

The equestrian camping area includes 15 equestrian campsites which rent for $12 per site per night. To make equestrian camping reservations, contact the park  at 803-222-3209.
Central water is available and privy toilets are nearby.

From Exit 82 on I-77 north of Rock Hill: Drive west on SC 161 to York and turn right (north) onto US 321/SC 161. Stay on SC 161 when it forks to the left and continue to the junction with York County S-46­705 (Park Road). Enter the park and drive to Apple Road and turn left. The trailhead and parking are approximately .8 mile on the left.

From Spartanburg: Drive northeast on I-85 to Exit 8 in North Carolina, and turn right onto SC 161 back into South Carolina. The park entrance is approximately five miles on the right. Enter the park and drive to Apple Road and turn left. The Trailhead and parking are approximately .8 mile on the left.
