- 14 miles of interconnected loop trails.
- The Francis Marion National Forest is a lush
landscape of pine stands and wildlife-filled swamps and marshes shaded
by towering bald cypress trees. While this may not seem like prime horse
riding, the Francis Marion National Forest does offer approximately 33 miles of
equestrian friendly trails in two easy to ride loops within its 259,000
acres.
- Trails are open year ‘round but the most popular
times are fall, winter, and spring, to avoid the worst of summer’s heat
and insects. The climate is hot and humid in the summer and is generally
mild in the winter.
