EBENEZER State Park
LAT / LONG: 31.07055, -94.12597
Ebenezer Park is located in Jasper County, approximately 18 miles north of Jasper, Texas. Ebenezer is also the only park on lake Sam Rayburn that allows equestrian camping on selected campsites.
The Equestrian area contains 12 campsites, all with water hookups, seven with 30 amp electric and three with 50 amp electric hookups. All these sites feature a hardened RV pullout, hitching posts, table and firering. Corrals are also placed within the campsite area. Hitching posts are located at each site. Shower/bathhouse located next to the Equestrian Camp.
As this is a very popular riding and horse camping area reservations are recommended through Recreation.gov. Each site must have at least one and no more than four horses. A Day Use Area is located near the park for those who do not wish to camp; however, camping is prohibited in the Day Use Area.
Ebenezer Park Equestrian Sites are open Year Round
FEES:
· 50 Amp sites are $18 per night
· 30 Amp sites are $16 per night
· Non-electric sites are $12 per night
The terrain is soft, sandy, no hoof boots/shoes needed. Some trails are easy rolling terrain, some creek crossings and gullies. There is lake/beach access at a few points along the trails.
The mainly shaded trails wind through forests of towering pines. Some trails go into the forest, while others will wind along cliffs overlooking the lake Sam Rayburn below and some go down on to the beach itself which is private, only able to access by the trails or by boat. Due in large part to shade and the lake access, it’s a great summertime place to ride.
Mud is seldom problem here due to the sandy terrain. This makes Ebenezer a good choice when other areas may be too wet to ride.
