Pine Valley Equestrian Campground

Dixie National Forest

St. George, Utah

NOTE: During summer of 2011 the equestrian loop will be closed during construction to upgrade facilities

The Equestrian Campground has 14 single campsites, 4 tent sites, and a parking loop with facilities for horses. It is located about 3/4 mile from Pine Valley Reservoir, in a ponderosa pine, pinyon, and juniper setting north of the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness. It offers great views of the Pine Valley Mountains. There are nearby trails in the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness including: Equestrian Trail, Forsyth Canyon Trail, Browns Trail, Whipple, Pine Valley Cannal Trail, and the Santa Clara River Trail.

Pine Valley Equestrian Camp is located in the scenic Pine Valley Recreation Area at an elevation of 6,800 feet. The area is forested with mountain mahogany, juniper, sagebrush, and a few Ponderosa pines, but shade is limited. Hiking and horse trails are abundant in Pine Valley, and vary in length from two to 35 miles.

This campground contains single sites for those camping with horses. Picnic tables, fire rings and BBQ grills are provided, as well as horse corrals and hitching rails. One flush toilet, vault toilets, potable water, and garbage service are provided. Roads and parking spurs are dirt.
