Located at the base of
the central Cascades just east of Enumclaw
Mt. Baldy is a small peak that reportedly
was the site a small volcanic eruption in
1895. If true no evidence of the blast
remains.
The trailhead parking
area, immediately off of SR 410, is large
enough to hold 20 or more trailer and truck
combinations easily.
To access the main body
of horse trails here follow the trail next to the
road, on the west side of the parking area,
which meanders up to the main logging access
road.
From the logging
road head west to the start of the Weyerhauser trail which climbs steeply up
Mt. Baldy and ends along a power line
running across the mountain.
From here you'll
follow the various logging roads which
intersect with fragments of horse and hiking trail scattered
throughout the area.
NOTE: This is a day use
riding area only. No camping, horse or
otherwise exists here)
