Mountain Ranges - Valley Views - Mount Rainier

Buck Creek near Greenwater, Washington boasts 7.1 miles of bridle trail, hiking path, and single track for horse riders, hikers, and mountain bikes, not including the popular Suntop trail (8.3 miles one way) and the Skookum Flats trail (7 miles one way)

The Buck Creek Campground is built around the Ranger Creek Airfield. This is an active airstrip so practice caution and stay off of the runway as you watch the aircraft circle during their landings and ascents.

Horse and camping areas are scattered throughout the area and are on a first come first serve basis. There are no designated area for equines or groups so choose your spot carefully.

The scenic White River runs next to the campground, make sure to walk down to the riverbank to view the milky waters full of silt from Mount Rainiers’ Emmons Glacier.

How to get here:

  • Highway 410 30 miles east of Enumclaw.

  • At mile marker 54 turn right onto Forest Service road 7160.
