Green Mountain located 7 miles northwest of
Bremerton in Kitsap County, WA climbs to
nearly 1,700 feet and provides tremendous
views to the east of Puget Sound, Hood
Canal, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker and
Seattle’s shimmering skyline. Views to the
west include fabulous vistas of the Olympic
Mountains and Lake Tahuya.
Green Mountain is the second highest
peak on the Kitsap Peninsula and is operated
as a working forest by the Department of
Natural Resources. Four main named trails
(Plummer, Gold Creek, Wildcat, Beaver Pond)
and a myriad of secondary trails make up
over 30 miles of trails available to Horse
riders, hikers, mountain bikers, and ORV’s.
Gold
Creek and Wildcat are two popular trail
heads available for day users of Green
Mountain. Green Mountain Horse Camp is open
between the months of June and November for
overnight camping.
