With over 200 equestrian camp sites in two separate horse and mule friendly campgrounds and about 50 miles of trails to enjoy, Brushy Creek is a must visit location.

What to Expect

  • North Campground has a modern shower and restroom, 125 campsites (50 electrical), horse wash area, shade, each site has a hitching rail (users are required to tie animals to rails) and a 100' by 200' arena.
  • South campground has a modern shower and restroom with 62 electric, 22 non-electric sites, and 8 full water and sewer hookup sites
  • Water hydrants with potable water are available, as are picnic tables, grills, and a playground.
  • 50 miles of horse and mule friendly trails

Rules and Regulations

  • Land Manager = Iowa Department of Natural Resources
  • Out of state riders must have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) and negative Coggin's test (EIA) paperwork with them.
  • Day-use staging areas are located near both the north and south equestrian campgrounds
  • Portable stall/pens or electric fences are not allowed.
