Yellow River State Forest

trails to enjoy, Brushy Creek is a must visit location for
rider in Iowa's northeast.

- The equestrian trails at Yellow River State Forest will be closed December 1, 2011 through April 13, 2012.
This trail closure is due to the deer gun seasons and wet/slippery trail conditions throughout the winter months.
- The equestrian campground has 40 sites available to
horse and mule riders
- Potable water is available, as are picnic tables, and
fire pits.
- 20 miles of horse and mule friendly trails
- Land Manager = Iowa Department of Natural Resources
- Out of state riders must have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) and negative Coggin's test (EIA) paperwork with them.
- Day-use staging areas are located near both the north and south equestrian campgrounds
- Portable stall/pens or electric fences are not allowed.
