The equestrian trails at Yellow River State Forest will be closed December 1, 2011 through April 13, 2012. This trail closure is due to the deer gun seasons and wet/slippery trail conditions throughout the winter months.
The equestrian campground has 40 sites available to horse and mule riders
Potable water is available, as are picnic tables, and fire pits.

Land Manager = Iowa Department of Natural Resources
Out of state riders must have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) and negative Coggin's test (EIA) paperwork with them.
Day-use staging areas are located near both the north and south equestrian campgrounds
Portable stall/pens or electric fences are not allowed.
