Peckerneck Horse Trail

The Harlan County Reservoir is not only Nebraska's second largest lake but is also home to the Peckerneck Trail developed especially for horse use. Beginning at Alma Vista 1 mile south of Alma, NE the trailhead is complete with hitching posts that will accommodate up to 20 horses. With a total of over 14 miles of trails arranged in numerous loops, you can ride loops of 1.5 hours, 4 hours, or 6 hours and still have time for lunch. .
