When you ride and camp in backcountry, or your backyard for that matter, you want a comfortable nights sleep. Leaving the ground for a hammock is one way to enjoy restful and peaceful land of nod. Packing into the wilderness requires that attention be paid to not only the weight but also the volume of the equipment that is loaded and carried. Again, here the Skeeter Beeter is wonderful. With a packed size not much larger than a softball and weighing only 29 ounces this is a hammock that won't overload anyone. The integrated mosquito netting is perfect for keeping any annoying critters at bay.
The Skeeter Beeter comes with steel "S" hooks to attach the hammock to the hanging rope. We replaced these with climbing grade carabiners that are not only lighter but also much stronger.
