 Twin
Falls Trail
Olallie State Park

Trail Details
Twin Falls trail stretches east along the South Fork of the
Snoqualmie River as it winds its way into its birthplace in the
cascades. Aptly named the two falls here are the main attractions
with several overlooks and a well maintained trail leading to them.
From the trailhead to the falls and back is just over two and a half miles
with moderate grades along the way. You'll notice from the trail map
that this trail is very close to Interstate 90. Don't let that keep
you from this hike. The rushing of the river drowned out any road
noise that may have interrupted the hike.
Of the twin falls, the upper drops straight down into a boil of
noise and foam and the second is more of a fan as it drops 150 feet
into the bottom pool on its way to the Pacific. During the spring
and winter expect a more dramatic show when the water volume can
exceed 750,000 gallons per second.
While the falls are
the reason for the trail there is much to see and
appreciate on the mile or so it takes to get there. Old-growth firs
with girths over 14 in diameter are adjacent to the trail. Please
restrain yourself from the urge to hug these huge trees, compaction
of the soil around their base can kill them.
