The Griffin – Russell trail system, more commonly known as “Mt Baldy” is conveniently located just a few miles east of Enumclaw, WA on highway 410. From the main parking area on hwy 410 the trailhead is to the west. From here you’ll find many logging roads and a myriad of hiking and horseback riding trails in the heights above you. Some of the more popular horse trails include: Bear Ridge, reaching the top of Mnt Baldy; Knee Knocker, as the name implies it’s steep!; Mickey Mouse, a scenic connector trail between the Mnt Baldy and Mud Mountain trailheads. Trails here range from extremely rocky to smooth and easy. Be prepared for steep terrain regardless of the trail tread. NOTE: This is a day use riding area only. No camping, horse or otherwise exists here) Information on horse trails and hiking paths for horseback riders and hikers at the Mount Baldy area near Enumclaw Washington and only a couple of hours from Seattle.
