Forest and Woods

Named in 2001, Soaring Eagle Regional Park is one square mile (628 acres) of mature forests, wetlands, and wildlife habitat. Formerly known as Washington State school trust land, "Section 36". Soaring Eagle sits above Patterson Creek on the edge of the Sammamish Plateau along the western flank of the Snoqualmie River Valley. This natural area provides sanctuary for black bear, bobcat, black tail deer and more than 40 species of birds. Conveniently located a short drive from Bellevue and other Eastside Seattle locations, Soaring Eagle (or Section 36, or Beaver Lake)) continues to be one of the best close in areas for outdoor activities ranging from mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, walking, and running.

There are twelve miles of trails that are regularly used by hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The Pipeline Trail that crosses through the park is wide and flat, expect to see to see families with baby strollers out enjoying the trail. Soaring Eagle is also popular for trail running competitions.

You'll find muddy spots at Soaring Eagle Park

With over 12 miles of trails available, this is a fun network of tight and twisty singletrack. There are 18 named trails so many ride variations are possible. On the trails themselves you will encounter roots, rocks, logs, and MUD. Some of the trails here get extremely wet and muddy in winter and spring. Please avoid these trails in bad conditions and help keep this piece of Northwest goodness in great shape.
