What to Expect

  • Equestrian friendly camping areas include the 400 loop of the Sunset campground.
  • Most trails are grass with a few gravel and clay areas.
  • Trails may be closed due to wet conditions. Verify trail conditions by calling 262.878.5600.
  • Trails are generally open year round.

Rules and Regulations

  • Land Manager = Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
  • You must possess a valid state trail pass when riding these trails.
  • You also will need a state park vehicle admission sticker

Richard Bong State Recreation Area is 8 miles southeast of Burlington, Wisconsin, on State Highway 142. The entrance is a little less than a mile west of State Highway 75.
