Paria River to the "Golden Crayon" then on to the confluence and back. Paria River runs through a stunningly beautiful slot canyon. The Golden Crayon, well, you'll recognize it when you see it. It's a huge yellow slab of rock that is shaped like a crayon, with the tip pointing down into the water. (The picture with black horse and its reflection is at the crayon.) This is an in-and-out trail, but the scenery is different and beautiful both directions. This is definitely a "bucket list" ride. The canyon is much cooler than outside, so plan on that. We went in the fall, and it was perfect, maybe a bit chilly. There were several places with quick sand, which you could identify by its ripply, shiny texture. We stayed in the moving/flowing sections of water and didn't have any trouble.
