TrailMeister March 2016 Newsletter

hlo-trail-meister-jan-2016-nlMarch Musings

Here in Spokane we’ve had a few days hit nearly 60 degrees already. Most of the snow has already melted away. It’s time to give the trailer a good going over and ride! If it weren’t snowing at the moment. That’s March. Mild spring weather broken up with the last bits of winter.

Fortunately for me I’ve been able to escape to warmer climates over the past few months. The warm and sunny weather at the Pomona Horse Expo in southern CA and at the Southern Equine Expo in TN was fabulous.

Speaking of TrailMeister clinics. Two of the most common questions I hear during my expo talks are:

#1 – Do you worry about bears on the trail? NO – Bees scare me so much more than large furry critters – Here’s much more on why bears are not at the top of my fear list.

#2 – How is TrailMeister free? – The content that you enjoy and rely on is free thanks to our advertisers. Many suppliers of goods and services use TrailMeister to connect to active and avid trail riders and horse owners.

I’m picky about which companies I choose to work with. I have to be able to look in the mirror and know that the companies I’m connecting you with are going to supply you with worthwhile products and services.

One company that I enjoy working with is Horse Lovers Outlet. Not only do they help keep the servers up, they have excellent equipment for horse owners, exceptional customer service, and for TrailMeister readers this month they are having a sale.

WCHfeb2016Featured Article of the Month

West Coast Horsemen magazine, March 2016 issue – If and when an “eventful ride” occurs, I want to have nearby all the essentials required to stay alive. For me nearby means either on my person, in pockets or on my belt, or in my pommel bags. This is what and WHY I carry in case I’m forced to endure a long cold night on the trail. Continue Reading »
