For most horsemen the 40 miles of trails in the Burke Lake area are generally considered an early spring ride due to the excessive heat later in the year, and of course the omnipresent rattlesnakes that call the rocks and sage brush home.

- Take manure and excess hay home with you.
- Don’t alter the desert environment to suit your horses.
