What To Expect

The equestrian day-use parking area and trailhead at the Smoky Mountain campground (sites 33-38) is the best facility for access into the City of Rocks National Reserve.
The Smoky Mountain Campground is a loop campground for RVs and equestrian users located near the eastern entrance to the park. It has six campsites and is not limited to equestrian use. Two sites share a picnic table and fire ring and the other sites are back in sites with one corral each.
A communal corral is located in the center of the camping area and can accommodate 3 to 4 horses.
