About
This Challenge Event will be based from our Fire Mountain Trail Course, which has over 35 Trail Challenges simulating the kind of obstacles that might be encountered while riding on back country or front country trails. 6 - 8 Challenges will be chosen for this event. Some obstacles will be found on the Trail Course, and some will be found out on the 6 to 7 mile trail ride that is part of the event. Riders are welcome to use the Trail Course for their own enjoyment on Friday; as well as Saturday morning BEFORE the Rider's Meeting; on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday after Sunday's ride has come to a close.Cost for this Trail Challenge event is $40 plus normal Haul In Fee of $10 per horse, per day.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT CAN BE RIDDEN FOR FUN, OR AS PART OF OUR 2015 BUCKLE SERIES! Riders may choose their own level of difficulty for EACH and EVERY obstacle that is encountered along t heir trail ride.
Competitors must ride in at least 5 of the 10 Fire Mountain Trail Course Challenge events during the 2015 riding season to qualify for Buckles. Buckles will be awarded in 3 Levels of difficulty, with special awards for winners in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories. As mentioned above, event participants may ride simply for FUN, or may ride for competition points in one or both days of the Event weekend. Dry Camping is available at $10 per night; Haul-In fee is $10 per horse per day; and a limited number of 12' x 12' horse pens are available for $10 per day, limit 1 horse per pen. High line areas are also available at no charge, and people are welcome to bring their own portable pen and high line gear.
There is a water hydrant and a nice clean porta pottie located in the camping area.
A hot water shower is also available for campers.
We are a Leave No Trace facility. A wheel barrel is provided to transport manure to a nearby location, but visitors are asked to bring their own poop forks ;o)

* * REGISTRATION opens at 8:00 a.m. Participants may arrive earlier to unload and settle in before Registration.
MANDATORY RIDER'S MEETING begins promptly at 9:30
FIRST RIDERS OUT at 10:30, departures are every 15 minutes.
